A new software update is planned to be available to download for CEL-FI QUATRA 4000c/4000/4000i/EVO/EVO FN on August 27th, 2026, with the following:
New Feature
- Smarter relay channel selection: CEL-FI QUATRA 4000c/4000/4000i/EVO/EVO FN now features an enhanced relay channel selection algorithm that evaluates detected 4G LTE and 5G NR donor cells and automatically selects the most suitable channels based on network-defined priorities and signal quality.
Improvements
- Improved CU link reliability: Enhanced CU link monitoring and recovery provide link stability between the Network Unit and Coverage Units.
- Improved network detection and radio assignment: Updates to LTE and 5G NR network-information processing improve the system’s ability to identify and relay suitable network channels.
- Improved recovery after configuration changes: The system now more reliably requires network timing and resumes relay operation after band or channel-setting changes.
- Improved LAN and system stability: Updates to LAN network handling to improve system stability during high LAN network traffic and other high-latency network operating conditions.
- Added improvement of embedded modem IMEI visibility in WAVE Portal: Additional modem information of the Network Unit’s embedded LTE modem IMEI can now be viewed remotely for a specific system in WAVE Portal.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed issues that could prevent relay operation after background network searches, band changes, or channel reconfiguration.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the system to remain in cell search when network information could not be decoded.
- Resolved an internal communication timing issue that could affect communication between system components.
- Resolved an issue that could prevent a CU link from starting or recovering correctly.
- Resolved an issue that could cause incorrect CU link alarms when a CU was intentionally disabled from WAVE.
- Fixed an issue that could cause an incorrect shutdown alarm while the system was automatically recovering a CU connection.
- Various changes for better performance, stability, and security.
How the update will be delivered:
- WAVE Portal: Users will receive a software update availability prompt if the system is online on the WAVE Portal after the release date.
- If automatic software updates are enabled and the system is online, QUATRA 4000c/4000/4000i/EVO/EVO FN is planned to update automatically by September 15th, 2026.
- WAVE Field Tool: Users will be able to perform the software update when connecting to QUATRA 4000(i/c)/EVO(FN) locally over USB after the release date.
