5G support for QUATRA 4000-series was introduced with software release version 37. Up until now, 5G functionality for QUATRA has required manual activation within product Settings.
Beginning October 28th, 2025, 5G is enabled by default, alongside existing 3G and 4G support. No user action is required. This default enablement will automatically roll out to connected systems over the next few weeks via the Nextivity WAVE Portal or the WAVE Field Tool (Windows).
Please note that your QUATRA software must be updated to version 40 or later for this automatic 5G configuration to take effect. Network Unit software may update in stages before the new settings are fully applied.
To ensure compatibility with systems that use manual band or channel configurations, the following rules apply:
- If user has not applied ANY manual band/channel settings: 5G bands and channels will be automatically enabled by default in Settings (you may modify them later if desired).
- If user has applied some manual band/channel settings: 5G bands and channels will remain disabled by default to preserve your custom relay configuration (you may enable them manually if desired).
