Release Availability: June 26th, 2025
Region: EMEA & APAC
Software Version: v5
A new software update will be available to download for ROAM R41 on June 26th, with the following:
New Features
- Enhanced RAN sharing support wherein the system can now read the cellReservedForOperatorUse parameter in SIB1. This enables the device to accurately identify and relay the correct operator's signal in complex RAN sharing environments, thereby preventing incorrect cell selection.
- Adds support for the new ROAM R41 hardware variant supporting complete Band 28.
Improvements
- Improved band and neighbor cell channel handling, including better error management for invalid SIB entries at band edges, to prevent device resets.
- New checks prevent oversized channel lists from corrupting memory, thereby improving reliability during normal use.
- Improvement increased downlink Tx power on the new hardware variant to allow +3 dBm for low bands 5/8/26/28 only.
Bug Fixes
- Addresses a bug in PDCCH/PDSCH resulting in persistent SIB2 decoding failures related to specific networks.
- Fixes the crash of ROAM R41 units when loaded with an operator configuration that contained NR channels for other CEL-FI products.
- Limits the maximum system gain to 90 dB for ROAM R41 on a specific operator network.
- Resolves an issue where an LTE PBCH SFN (System Frame Number) could be overwritten in specific scenarios.
- Various changes for better performance, stability, and reliability.
WAVE App users will receive a software update availability prompt when they connect to the WAVE App after the release date.
