The WAVE app keeps syncing and won't connect to my booster. What should I do?
If the WAVE app is stuck on syncing, try the following steps:
- Verify Device Status: Ensure that your Cel-Fi Booster is powered on and in relay mode. You can find specific instructions for your model on the product support pages.
- Check App Version: Make sure you have the latest version of the WAVE app installed on your mobile device.
- Confirm Compatibility: The WAVE app requires Bluetooth 4.1, Android 5 or newer, or iOS 8 or newer. Verify that your mobile device meets these requirements.

Why do I need to register my CEL-FI device?
Registration is sometimes required by regulatory bodies or mobile network operators to ensure proper use of signal boosters.
During registration, we collect information such as user contact details, the address where the booster is installed, and the booster's make, model, and serial number. This data helps carriers contact users or locate the booster if network issues arise.
All information collected during registration will be used for these purposes and is subject to CEL-FI’s Privacy Policy.
What if I don't have cellular coverage to register?
The WAVE app needs an internet connection to register the system successfully, which can be challenging in remote areas with poor cellular coverage and no available Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, the initial connection and registration require an active cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
If there's no data coverage available, you won’t be able to register the booster on-site. In this case, you may need to take the booster to a location with internet access to complete the registration process. Once registered, you can bring it back to the installation site, as the app can function in an 'offline' mode afterward.
Why do I need to allow location access?
Allowing location access is optional and is only requested the first time you open the WAVE app. The latitude and longitude data collected helps mobile network operators locate the booster in case of network issues, ensuring better service and support.

Why can't my Pixel 7/Pixel 7 Pro connect to the CEL-FI device via Bluetooth?
We have identified a compatibility issue between the Bluetooth chip in Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro phones and our devices. Due to this hardware limitation, these phone models may not be able to connect to CEL-FI devices using the WAVE app.
Unfortunately, since this is a hardware compatibility issue with the Bluetooth chip in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, there isn't a direct fix that we can implement in the app. However, we're exploring options to provide better guidance for affected users.
