What is the Shield Mega Fi?
The Shield Mega Fi is a wireless router solution. The Shield Mega Fi can be placed in a mobile vehicle, or in a fixed location to provide internet access in a area where traditional internet solutions may not be viable or feasible. The Shield Mega FI is designed to support up to 32 connected devices, and is also designed to provide the highest power wireless connection (WWAN) and a wired network connection (WAN) for all your edge router needs.
Who determines what bands the Shield Mega Fi uses for communication?
The operator AT&T FirstNet determines the bands and frequencies used by the Shield Mega Fi.
What data rate plan do I need for my FirstNet sim card?
The AT&T FirstNet SIM card should be on an HPUE data rate plan. For more information about data plans

Does the Shield Mega Fi boost cell coverage and provide better call quality?
The Shield Mega Fi is a wireless router solution that provides internet access to devices such as laptops,
phones, tablets, and other devices that connect to the internet through Wi-Fi or via Ethernet cable. The Mega Fi does not boost cell phone reception for nearby devices. The Mega Fi does provide internet access, and cell phones can connect to the Mega Fi Wi-Fi signal and use Wi-Fi calling to possibly get better quality phone calls.
Does the MegaFi require professional installation?
Professional installation is not necessary for traditional in-office or in-home use. If installing in a vehicle or where an external antenna is needed, a professional installer is highly recommended. AT&T and FirstNet can have your device professionally installed and a quote can be obtained from AT&T, FirstNet, or your authorized seller.
How do I log into my device for the first time?
There was three ways to get logged into the router.
- Using Wi-Fi
- Using a ethernet cable
- Using the Mega Portal
Using a computer
Connect a computer (mobile phone not recommended) locally to the device with an ethernet cable or via the Wi-Fi connection: Open your computer browser window enter https://192.168.113.1 and accept any browser certificate warnings to get to the local Mission Control login page. At the Mission Control login screen, enter “admin” as the username and the default password, which is available from the router’s label, and click Login. When the End User License Agreement appears, complete the information at the bottom of the form and click Apply When directed, update your password and press Apply & Save.
This will get you to the Mega Fi Status Home Page.
Using the Mega Portal
Add your device to the Mega Portal by using the MAC address and serial number located on the bottom of the device. ( Note: This information is also on the box the unit came in and the sticker inside the box ).
Once the device is added to the Mega Portal select the device you wish to log into. In the upper right handside of the screen, select options and Launch Mission control. Next you will reach the Mission Control home screen. Enter in the user name and password to gain access to the device. You will be met with a user license agreement if this is the first time you have logged into the device. Fill out the required information to proceed forward to the Mega Fi status home screen.
I have logged into the device, where do I go to edit settings?
Once you have logged into the Mega Fi, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select "Expert Configurations". Except the notification that pops up on the screen. Select the settings you wish to view and or change in the Mega Fi on the left hand side.

How much does it cost for the Mega Portal?
There is no cost associated with the Mega Fi. Its free
How do I change my Wi-Fi password?
You can change your Wi-Fi password by logging into the device and going to the following sections,
Expert Configurations > Network > Wi-Fi Settings. Select the * symbol to see the current password. Enter in the new password in this field and click save & apply when finished to save the changes.
Please Note: Changing the Wi-Fi password does not change the login password for the Mega Fi. If you wish to change this password you will need to navigate to a different section for this option.
How do I change my Mega Fi login password?
You will need to log into the Mega Fi. Once logged in, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "Change Password". Enter in the new password you want for the Mega Fi in the provided fields. Once done, click save to save the changes.
I forgot my password for the Mega Fi, what do I do?
If you don't remember your password to get logged into the router, you will need to reset the Mega Fi by pressing and holding the reset button for 20 sec. The reset process will take 4 to 5 minutes to complete, once the reset is complete you should get green lights on the following LED's on the Mega Fi, Power, internet, and Wi-Fi. You should also have 1 to 4 signal bars indicating the Mega FI is sending and receiving an LTE signal. The default password is listed on the bottom of the Mega Fi. Use this login information to get logged back into the Mega Fi. ( Note: Any settings and configurations will be lost once the device is defaulted back to factory settings )
Can you send GPS data to another device?
Yes, you can send GPS data to another connected to the Mega Fi.
You will need to navigate to the GPS settings in the Mega Fi settings.
Expert, Configuration > System > GPS configurations.
( Note: You may need additional information such as ports in order to send GPS to other devices on the LAN of the Mega Fi )
